Introduction

I am a current student at Georgetown University studying computer science and data science. I am completing course work toward an accelerated B.A./M.S. degree program. In May, 2024, I graduated with a B.A. in computer science and minors in Korean and statistics. In May, 2025, I will graduate with an M.S. in Data Science and Analytics.

Since August, 2022, I have worked as a data science researcher with Professor Lisa Singh at Georgetown University’s Massive Data Institute (MDI). I have contributed to projects at the intersection of data science and public policy such as tracking scientific misinformation on Twitter and predicting forced migration with social media data. Description of the image

My current areas of interest are natural language processing (NLP), data ethics, and urban analytics. As I have progressed through my undergraduate computer science and graduate data science curricula, I have particularly enjoyed courses like Information Retrieval and Empirical Methods of NLP. In my research, I have worked a lot with large langauge models, both in developing the models and processing the resulting inference. Recently, I have combined these academic interests with my personal excitement for city systems, resulting in my passion for urban analytics.

Broadly, I conceptualize urban analytics as the data systems upon which cities function. This could be anything from transportation data for metro systems or energy data for residential utilities. I am eager to learn more about what opportunities exist in this space.
